Ellen Gilchrist

Ellen Gilchrist is the Chief Executive Officer of BasBlue. They served as Senior Director of K-12 Education and Community Initiatives at United Way for Southeastern Michigan from 2021 to 2024. They were the Executive Director of Social Studies and Accelerated Programs at Detroit Public Schools Community District from 2017 to 2021. They earned a Master of Arts in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University, in 2006–2007. They were a Fulbright Scholar in 2004–2005.
