Marco Macioszek

R&D Business Development Lead at BASE life science

Marco Macioszek has a diverse work experience in the life sciences industry. Marco started their career as a Freelancer, where they worked as a Business Development and Marketing Manager from May 2009 to August 2013.

In 2013, Marco joined Eli Lilly and Company as an E-Business Assistant and Territory Manager for Veterinary Medicine. In this role, they focused on online marketing, process development, sales funnel optimization, and outside field sales of veterinary pharmaceutical products. Marco stayed with the company until December 2014.

From 2015 to 2016, Marco worked as a Sales and Business Development Manager at SOPHiA GENETICS, a startup in the field of Molecular Diagnostics and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis software. Marco'sresponsibilities included prospecting, in-person sales calls, conventions, and marketing efforts to develop new markets and democratize NGS analytics.

Starting in 2016, Marco joined Bio-Rad Laboratories as a Sales Manager, where they focused on strategic account development and new business creation for the company's clinical diagnostics portfolio. Marco achieved significant successes in selling blood typing automation systems and introducing new products to the market.

In 2020, Marco moved to Abbott as a Sales Executive for Abbott Informatics - STARLIMS. Marco was responsible for helping companies meet their strategic goals in terms of efficiency, profitability, quality, compliance, and automation. Marco'sterritory covered Northern Germany, Nordics (excluding Sweden), and most of Eastern Europe.

Before their current role, Marco worked at Veeva Systems as an Account Executive from November 2021 to March 2022 and as an Account Partner from March 2022 to February 2023. Marco'sresponsibilities included relationship building, consultative sales, and document management solutions for existing customers and prospects, with a focus on CDMOs.

Currently, Marco is the R&D Business Development Lead at BASE life science, starting in February 2023.

Marco Macioszek completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing from Bemidji State University from 2004 to 2009. Marco later pursued further education, obtaining a Certificate in Leadership Essentials from IMD in 2022. Marco also pursued a Certificate in Leadership in Healthcare Innovation from Harvard Medical School in 2022-2023. In addition to their formal education, Marco obtained a certification in Leading Digital Transformation in Health Care from Harvard Medical School in February 2023.
