Tero Tiittanen

Tero Tiittanen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Tero started their career in 1996 as a Tutkimusinsinööri at Puolustusvoimien Sähköteknillinen tutkimuslaitos and worked there until 1998. Tero then joined Nokia Networks Oyj as a Senior Software Design Engineer, where they developed software for Radio Network Controller and Media Gateway network elements in 3G networks. Tero worked at Nokia Networks Oyj for almost 8 years.

In 2006, Tero joined Espotel Oy as a Software Designer, where they worked on software design and development for embedded systems. Tero also contributed to the development of a GUI library for handheld touch screen controlled devices. After working at Espotel Oy for two years, Tero moved to Nokia and took on the role of Senior Specialist, Linux UI. In this role, they were involved in software design and development for Maemo and Meego operating systems. Tero'sresponsibilities included QT based UI framework development, graphics stack and Open GLES driver development, and performance optimization on the graphics area. Tero worked in this role until 2012.

Tero then transitioned to the role of Principal Engineer at Nokia, where they led and developed Nokia Windows Phone applications focused on imaging and image processing. Tero also collaborated closely with UX designers on early UX prototyping. After two years in this role, Tero joined Microsoft in 2014 as a Senior Engineer. Tero played a key role in developing the Nokia Camera application and worked closely with UX designers to create an award-winning camera user experience. The Nokia Camera application won the iF and Red Dot: Best of the Best Awards in 2014. Tero worked at Microsoft until 2017.

From 2017 to 2021, Tero worked at KoruLab as a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they designed and developed the Koru UI framework for wearable devices, created rendering backends for various platforms, and adapted the Koru UI framework for customer projects. In December 2021, Tero joined Basemark as a Senior Graphics Engineer.

Tero Tiittanen received their Master's degree from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan between 1991 and 1997. The field of study for their degree is not specified.
