Jonathan Vogel

Jonathan Vogel is an experienced leader in agricultural biotechnology with a focus on global discovery breeding for cotton and soybean at BASF since January 2009. As Head of Global Discovery Breeding, Jonathan manages breeding projects and technology evaluation while overseeing collaborations. Initial roles included Senior Team Leader, where Jonathan led a multidisciplinary team in various biotech projects, and Senior Scientist, where experimental designs were developed through integrating diverse scientific data. Prior to BASF, Jonathan served as a Post-doctoral Associate at the University of Florida, focusing on the role of carotenoids in plant hormone production, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Michigan State University, where novel pathways for abiotic stress tolerance were identified. Jonathan holds a PhD in Cell & Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics, both from Michigan State University.
