Duncan Phillips

Duncan Phillips is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Bash since August 2022. Prior to this role, they were a Technical Consultant for Cloud Modernization in an unknown company starting in April 2022. Duncan also has experience as the Co-organizer of ScaleConf, a technology conference held in South Africa, starting in October 2011. Duncan served as the Director of Engineering at Aerobotics from April 2021 to April 2022. Duncan held various positions at Takealot, including Director of Engineering for Platform from January 2018 to April 2021, and Operations Engineer from July 2014 to January 2018. Furthermore, Duncan worked as a Systems Engineer at Amazon Web Services from May 2013 to June 2014. Duncan also has experience as an Operations Developer at Facebook from February 2012 to March 2013. Prior to that, Duncan worked as an Operations Engineer at Yola.com from February 2010 to January 2012 and as an Operations and Services Manager at iPay (Pty) Ltd from April 2009 to February 2010. Duncan began their career as an Associate Project Manager at BeCrypt from February 2008 to November 2008 and also worked as a Developer and Quality Assurance team member from February 2007 to February 2008.

Duncan Phillips obtained a CAPM Certification in Project Management from PMI in 2009. In 2006, they pursued an Honours degree in Computer Science at Rhodes University, and from 2003 to 2005, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Physics, Electronics, and Computer Science at the same institution.
