LaShawn Shorbe

LaShawn Shorbe is currently the VP of Charter School Management at BASIS.ed. LaShawn has previous experience working in operations and human resources for Target, and they were also a store manager for Walgreens.

Shorbe began their career in 2004 as a store manager for Walgreens. In 2010, they transitioned to Target, where they worked as an executive team leader for salesfloor and guest experience. In 2014, they moved to the human resources department and served in that role until 2016.

In March 2016, Shorbe joined BASIS.ed as the operations director. LaShawn held that position until June 2016, when they were promoted to their current role as VP of charter school management.

LaShawn Shorbe earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management. LaShawn also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Retail and Consumer Sciences from the University of Arizona. LaShawn Shorbe began their educational career by earning a diploma from Flowing Wells High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates. LaShawn then went on to complete coursework at Pima Community College.

LaShawn Shorbe reports to Carolyn McGarvey, CEO. They are on a team with Julie Kearney - VP of Operations, Cody Roth - VP of Human Resources, and Phil Handler - VP of Communications & Brand Management.
