Sofia Perez-Vargas

Sofia Perez-Vargas is a dedicated educator with a strong background in mathematics instruction and curriculum development. Currently serving as a Subject Advisor for the Pre-Algebra Curriculum at BASIS Independent Schools, Sofia provides support and resources to teachers, collaborates on student assessments, and works on curriculum alignment with fellow Math Subject Advisors. Prior experience includes roles as a Subject Expert Teacher for grades 5-7, a Grader for Mathematics for Elementary Teachers at the University of Washington, and a Graduate Research Assistant focused on creating lesson plans aligned with Common Core Standards. Additionally, Sofia has hands-on teaching experience at Xavier College Preparatory and customer service management at ASU Gammage, complemented by a Master of Education in Learning Sciences and Human Development from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Arizona State University.
