Senior Software Engineer at Basis Theory

Lucas Chociay has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Lucas started their career as a Technical Support Intern at MAX3D LTDA, where they provided technical support for CAD products and also served as an infrastructure and network administrator. Lucas then worked as a Student Researcher at CNPq, contributing to a joint project between their university and Petrobras, focusing on digital image processing using neural networks.

Following that, Lucas joined ExxonMobil and held multiple roles. As a Trainee, they ensured system performance and compliance by creating automated reports. Subsequently, as a System Analyst, they managed change in SAP systems and generated governance reports. Lucas later became a Lead Software Engineer, responsible for managing and mentoring a team of web developers and developing APIs. Finally, they served as a Software Architect, where their responsibilities included infrastructure provisioning and DevOps pipeline configuration using Azure ARM and Azure DevOps, respectively.

Most recently, Lucas worked at banQi as a Tech Lead, leading technology initiatives before joining Basis Theory as a Software Engineer. Lucas was later promoted to Senior Software Engineer at Basis Theory, where they currently contribute their expertise.

Lucas Chociay completed their education in a chronological manner. Lucas first attended the Federal University of Technology - Parana from 2007 to 2010, where they received a Technician degree in Industrial Mechanics. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer Engineering from the same university, which they completed from 2011 to 2016. Additionally, in September 2019, Lucas obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft.
