Joe Christian has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Joe began their career as a Summer Associate at Woolf, McClane, Bright, Allen & Carpenter, PLLC in 2003. Joe then worked as a Summer Intern in the Chambers of District Judge Thomas Phillips at the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee. After that, they joined Lewis, Thomason, King, Krieg & Waldrop, P.C. as an Associate Attorney from 2005 to 2010.

In 2010, Joe joined the University of Tennessee College of Law, where they held multiple roles. Joe started as an Employer Relations and Recruitment Coordinator at the Bettye B. Lewis Career Center, where they developed and maintained relationships with employers and coordinated student and employer functions. Joe then became the Assistant Director of the Bettye B. Lewis Career Center, working closely with students, alumni, employers, faculty, and industry partners to create meaningful employment relationships and providing career counseling to students. In 2019, Joe served as the Interim Director of the Bettye B. Lewis Career Center. Joe continued in this role until September 2021, when they became a Lateral Recruiter at Bass, Berry & Sims.

Additionally, Joe served as the President of the Alumni Band Council at the University of Tennessee from 2016 to 2018. Throughout their career, Joe has demonstrated their expertise in recruitment, career counseling, employer relations, and legal practice.

Joe Christian attended Vanderbilt University Law School from 2002 to 2005, where they earned their J.D. degree in Law. Prior to that, they attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1998 to 2002, where they earned their B.S. degree in College Scholars with a focus on Pre-Law and Music.
