Dewayne Hixson

DeWayne Hixson is a seasoned professional in cybersecurity and martial arts, currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Bass Pro Shops since September 2022. Hixson also operates Hixson Adventure, Fitness and Tactical Academy (HAFTA) as Owner, CEO, and Tactical Instructor while teaching concealed carry courses in Arkansas. Hixson has an extensive background in cybersecurity, having held various leadership roles at Walmart Technology for over 23 years, culminating as Director of Cybersecurity. Hixson’s experience includes roles in emergency medical services and law enforcement, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. As a Master Instructor at 5Way Dragon’s Martial Arts, Hixson promotes self-defense and cultural awareness among students of all ages.
