Katie Burgess

Katie Burgess is an experienced professional specializing in creative development, community engagement, and communications within the park district sector. Currently serving as the Director of Creative Development and Community Engagement at Batavia Park District since June 2023, Katie previously held the position of Superintendent of Communications & Marketing at Hoffman Estates Park District from February 2019 to July 2023. Prior to that, Katie accumulated diverse experience at Gurnee Park District in various roles related to graphic design, marketing, and communications. Katie's background also includes work as a Medical Illustrator at Body Scientific International and Encyclopaedia Britannica. Katie holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois Chicago and dual degrees (BFA in Painting and BS in Anatomy, Biology, and Genetics) from Birmingham-Southern College.
