Born in 1954 in İzmir, Şükrü Serdar Bağcıoğlu graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Industrial Engineering. He completed his master's degree at Swansea University, England. Between 1979-1984, he worked as a manager in engineering in various industrial establishments, as a branch manager in various banks between 1984-1996, as Assistant General Manager at Yapı ve Kredi Bankası A.Ş. between 1996-2000, and as Koçbank A.Ş. He served as the Assistant General Manager at Çiftçiler Gayrimenkul Yatırım Danışmanlık A.Ş. Batıçim Batı Anadolu Çimento Sanayii A.Ş. and Batısöke Söke Çimento Sanayii TAŞ.' He has been an Independent Member of the Board of Directors of the company since 2020.

In addition, the Company offers logistic services, such as marine cargo handling and harbor operations management. The Company's subsidiaries include Batisoke Soke Cimento Sanayii T.A.S., Yapsan Insaat Malzeme ve Maddeleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. and Ash Plus Yapi Malzemeleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. In August, 2014, the Company sold its 63.97% stake in Tezlidere Elektrik Uretim AS.
