Mary Miller, Ed.D., currently serves as a Professor of Biology at Baton Rouge Community College, where responsibilities include teaching microbiology and biology, along with overseeing undergraduate researchers in the Louisiana Freshwater Sponge Project. With experience as an Associate Professor, Mary has instructed various biology courses utilizing different delivery methods and held the position of BRCC Science Research Program Director since 2018, where a research-centered curriculum was developed. Additionally, Mary operates as an independent assessment consultant for major publishing companies while holding a previous role as an instructor and lab manager at Southeastern Louisiana University. Mary earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership focusing on Assessment, Testing, and Measurement, a Master’s Degree in Microbiology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with an emphasis on Microbiology from Southeastern Louisiana University. Current research interests include the diversity of freshwater sponges and nanoparticle microbial degradation studies.
