Steven Schmidt is an experienced software developer and researcher with a strong background in engineering and computer science. Currently serving as an EV Charging Simulation Software Developer at Idaho National Laboratory since December 2022, Steven previously completed a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Brigham Young University, focusing on splines over unstructured meshes for CAD and finite element analysis. Concurrently, Steven worked as a Software Engineer at Coreform, where an algorithm for U-splines was implemented into CAE/CAD software. Early career experiences include roles at Cirris, Sandia National Laboratories as a student intern, and various positions in software development and research at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. Steven holds a Master of Science in Computational Engineering and Science and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics with a computer science emphasis.
