Yaser Helal has extensive work experience in the field of research and teaching. Yaser has held the role of Lead Scientist at Battelle since February 2023 and previously worked as a Research Scientist at the same company from March 2019 to February 2023. Before joining Battelle, Yaser Helal was a Research Scientist at ARA from March 2018 to March 2019. Yaser also has experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Research Associate at The Ohio State University from January 2017 to March 2018 and from June 2010 to December 2016, respectively. Yaser Helal also worked as a Graduate Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University from September 2009 to June 2010. Yaser'searly work experience includes roles as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Physics Tutor at Ohio Wesleyan University from August 2008 to May 2009 and from August 2006 to May 2009, respectively. Additionally, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Ohio Wesleyan University from May 2007 to May 2009, studying the properties of the Josephson phase for a Josephson junction capacitively coupled to a nanomechanical oscillator and its theoretical applications to quantum computing under the guidance of Dr. Brad R. Trees.
Yaser Helal obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2009. Yaser then pursued a Master's Degree in Physics at The Ohio State University from 2009 to 2011. Continuing their academic journey, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at The Ohio State University from 2011 to 2017. Furthermore, Yaser Helal has acquired additional certifications in subjects such as optical system design and Zemax OpticStudio from institutions like Zemax LLC and Zemax Ansys, obtained in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
