Lumarie Orozco, MA, is a community psychologist with over 20 years of experience dedicated to ending gender-based violence through a survivor-led and community-centered approach. Currently serving as Project Director for the Firearms Technical Assistance Project at BWJP since March 2023, Lumarie focuses on trauma-informed, culturally-affirming initiatives that prioritize access, wellness, and safety. Previously, Lumarie held various leadership roles at Esperanza United, including Director of Special Initiatives, where responsibilities encompassed managing federally funded initiatives like domestic violence homicide prevention and providing training and technical assistance. Lumarie's extensive background also includes serving in roles such as Mental Health Practitioner at Oak Grove Care Center and developing youth-focused programs for Latina adolescents at Casa de Esperanza. Lumarie holds a Master's Degree in Community Psychology from Metro State University and has participated in the Youth Development Fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
