Dharmesh joined Battery Ventures in 2015 to focus on early-venture and growth-equity investments in areas including cloud infrastructure, big data, security and next-generation enterprise applications. He is actively involved with Battery Ventures portfolio companies Bionic, Bridgecrew, Collibra, Contrast Security, Databricks, Fungible, Gong.io, Guardsquare, InfluxData, JFrog (NASDAQ: FROG), Machinify, Matillion, Narvar, Ordr, Reflektion, Sensu, StreamSets and Sumo Logic (NASDAQ: SUMO).
Prior to Battery, Dharmesh was a managing director at Intel Capital, where he led the firm’s global cloud and big-data practice and made early- and later-stage investments in companies globally. He also assisted in long-range strategic planning for Intel’s $14 billion datacenter group. At Intel Capital, Dharmesh was an active board member or investor with companies including: BlueData (acquired by HP Enterprise); Cloudera (NYSE:CLDR); DynamicOps (acquired by VMware); ElasticBox (acquired by CenturyLink); Enlighted (acquired by Siemens); Guavus (acquired by Thales SA); Maginatics (acquired by EMC); Mirantis; MongoDB (Nasdaq: MDB); Movidius (acquired by Intel); Saffron Tech (acquired by Intel); ScienceLogic; Vexata; and Yottaa.
Before joining Intel Capital, Dharmesh spent almost a decade in product management and go-to-market roles with enterprise-software companies like Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), Manhattan Associates (Nasdaq: MANH) and two other startups leading to their acquisition. In 2016, Dharmesh was named to the Forbes Midas Brink list of up-and-coming venture capitalists, and in 2018 he was included on Business Insider’s 23 Top Venture Capitalists in Enterprise Tech list. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a BS in electrical engineering, Dharmesh also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
