Mattijs Slee

Mattijs Slee has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Mattijs currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Battolyser Systems since May 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at Shell for a significant period. At Shell, they held various positions, including Commercial Head Europe and Investment Director at Shell Ventures. As an Investment Director, they led the acquisition of NewMotion, a prominent European electric vehicle charging company. Additionally, as a Development Manager, they played a key role in global new business development opportunities, conducting technical due diligence and valuations for multimillion-dollar acquisitions and divestments. Mattijs also worked as an Engineer and Development Planner, contributing to large-scale energy projects by delivering engineering packages and assessing costs, production, and risks.

Mattijs Slee's education history begins in 1999 when they started their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Mattijs completed their bachelor's degree in 2003. During the same year, they also participated in an exchange program at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, focusing on a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Hydraulics and Fluid Power Technology/Technician. In 2003, they officially enrolled at Delft University of Technology for a Master of Science in Hydraulic Engineering, which they completed in 2006. Mattijs Slee continued their education in 2016 by pursuing a Global Executive MBA at INSEAD, which they completed in 2017 with a concentration in Business Administration.
