Angela Hölzl

Principal , Primary School, Haimhausen Campus at Bavarian International School

Angela Hölzl is the Principal of the Primary School. She first joined BIS in 2004 as a Grade 3 classroom teacher and has been actively involved in the Primary School curriculum development ever since. In 2004 she also became an official IBPYP workshop leader and moved into the position of Assistant Principal/Curriculum Coordinator in 2006. Angela has gone on to facilitate in­school workshops, regional workshops and participate in school visits throughout the Europe, Africa and Middle East region, as well as develop curriculum documents for the International Baccalaureate Organisation.

Angela is well accustomed to living in Munich having previously worked at Munich International School and being married to Hubert, who is a native Bavarian. She has two children, Laura and Alexander and both children are bilingual. Originally Angela comes from Manchester in England and first came to live in the Munich area in 2001.

She studied for her Bachelor of Education with Honours in Liverpool and went on to teach in an inner city school in Manchester before moving to Germany. Since then she has completed a Masters degree in Educational Leadership. After 9 years of “on the job” training, in August 2015, she took on the role of Primary Principal at the Haimhausen Campus.
