Hayley McNamara has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies.

Hayley started their career as a Pharmacy Technician at Priceline Pharmacy from July 2011 to June 2014, where they processed prescriptions and dispensed medications.

Hayley then joined The Australian National University as a Research Assistant in the Malaria Immunology Laboratory from July 2015 to March 2016. During this time, they worked on a project investigating how CD8 T cells move throughout the liver to find hepatocytes infected with malaria parasites. Hayley also completed their Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from March 2016 to March 2020, focusing on understanding the cellular interactions during malaria infection and factors limiting long-lasting B cell memory. Additionally, they served as a Course Demonstrator for the undergraduate course 'Advanced and Applied Immunology' from August 2017 to October 2019, facilitating discussions and marking assessments.

In 2020, Hayley worked as a Molecular Scientist (HP2) at ACT Health from April 2020 to February 2021, where they prepared patient samples for COVID-19 testing, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

From 2021 to 2023, they worked at the Technical University of Munich, first as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the laboratory of Prof. Dietmar Zehn at the Division of Animal Physiology and Immunology, TUM School of Life Sciences. Their primary project focused on lung resident T cell populations. Hayley also took up additional roles as a Guest Lecturer, teaching adaptive immunology and vaccinology, and as a Seminar and Workshop Presenter for the SFB1371 Practical Course: Advanced Immune Cell Profiling.

Currently, Hayley holds the position of Scientist at Bavarian Nordic, starting in 2023.

Hayley McNamara completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Immunology from The Australian National University from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Medical Science (Honours) from the same institution between 2011 and 2015. In terms of additional certifications, they earned the following: "Project Management Simplified" from LinkedIn in February 2023, "Advanced Grammar" from LinkedIn in November 2022, "Grammar Foundations" from LinkedIn in November 2022, "The Foundations of Fiction" from LinkedIn in November 2022, and "FELASA" from LAS Interactive in April 2021.
