Helle Thanning

Helle Thanning has over 30 years of experience in the field of HR. Helle is currently working at Bavarian Nordic as a Senior HR Business Partner, supporting leadership teams and managers in various functions such as Product Supply, IT, Finance, and Legal. Helle'sresponsibilities include onboarding new managers, performance management, leadership development, talent management, and organizational development.

Before joining Bavarian Nordic, Helle worked at LEO Pharma as a Senior HR Business Partner in the IPO Preparedness Office. Helle also served as an HR Business Partner for the Global Research & Development and LEO Innovation Lab, where their role encompassed recruitment, onboarding, talent management, performance management, and succession planning.

Prior to LEO Pharma, Helle had a tenure at Danske Bank, where they held several positions. As a Senior HR Business Partner, they supported the Personal Banking Support Functions and was involved in major programs and projects. Helle also served as an HR Business Partner for Retail Banking, where they worked closely with the regional leadership team and provided HR support during the merge of two banks.

Earlier in their career, Helle worked as an HR Consultant at Carlson Consult, providing support and advice to various industrial companies and their subsidiaries. Helle was responsible for recruitment, HR sparring for managers, and HR projects.

Helle's career began at H. Lundbeck A/S, where they worked as an HR Partner/Consultant for the Research and Development division. Helle handled employee life cycle activities and focused on organizational development. Helle started their journey at the company as a Student Assistant.

Helle Thanning's education history begins in 1989, when they enrolled at Copenhagen Business School. Helle completed their Master of Science in Human Resource Management in 1995. In 1998, Helle returned to Copenhagen Business School to pursue their HD 2nd Part degree in Organization, Strategy, and Management, which they completed in 2001.

In 2012, Helle attended IMD, where they participated in two leadership programs. The first program, "Mindful Leadership in an Adaptive Era," focused on developing leadership skills in a changing environment. The second program, "Leading High Impact Learning," focused on organizational leadership.

Alongside their academic achievements, Helle has also obtained several certifications. In 1995, they obtained the BTB certification from CfL. In 2006, Helle acquired the DiSC - Classic and Everything certification from Discover and the PAPI certification from Cubicks. In 2013, they obtained the Logics General certification from Cubicks. Most recently, in June 2018, Helle obtained the Insights Discovery certification from Insights Danmark.
