Markus Feigl has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Markus started their career in 1985 as a Trainee/Employee, involved in the installation of heating systems, sanitary facilities, metalworking, and sealing technology. From 1995 to 1996, they worked as a Research Assistant at KIS Kuratorium für Immunschwäche e.V. Markus then joined Höhenrainer Fleischwarenvertriebs GmbH as an Assistant Sales Manager, where they were responsible for marketing turkey deli food and developing a new quality management system. In 2002, they started working at Aurigon Life Science GmbH as an Assistant in Pharmacology & Toxicology, supporting GLP studies and handling various tasks related to fumigation, archiving, and staff training.

In 2007, Markus joined Bavarian Nordic as a Technician in PreClinical Development, eventually progressing to the role of Senior Technician. Markus handled responsibilities such as immunoassays, cell-based assays, equipment qualification, and training staff. In 2012, while still working at Bavarian Nordic, they became a Manager and Co-owner at L&F GbR, functioning as a consultant in agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, along with producing and selling organic fertilizer and free-range eggs.

Lastly, in April 2022, Markus became a Specialist in Health and Safety at Work at Bavarian Nordic. Overall, Markus Feigl brings a wealth of experience in health and safety, immunology research, preclinical development, sales management, and various other fields.

Markus Feigl received their Technical College Entrance Qualification from Bad Toelz High School in 1988. Markus then pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Regensburg University of Applied Sciences from 1988 to 1990. Markus later attended Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences - Department of Agriculture and Food Economy, where they obtained a four-year degree comparable to BSc Hons Agriculture in Animal Sciences from 1990 to 1995.

In addition to their formal education, Markus Feigl has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1985, they became a Licensed Wildlife Manager, certified by the Government of Upper Bavaria. In 2008, they received the qualification of Qualified Person for Biotechnology (Fachkraft für Biotechnologie LGA) from LGA Training & Consulting GmbH (TUEV Rheinland Group). Markus earned the FELASA B certification in Laboratory Animal Sciences from GWT - Gesellschaft für wissenschaftlichen Tierschutz mbH in 2010. In 2012, they became a Qualified Person according to the European Meat-Hygiene Act (Game), certified by the District Office Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Department of Public Health. Most recently, in 2021, Markus Feigl obtained the Specialist in Health and Safety at Work certification from TUEV SUED Academy GmbH.
