Sanduli Fernando

Sanduli Fernando has a diverse work experience. In 2015, they worked as a Peer Lead in Team Learning at Miami Dade College. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Mathematics Tutor at The City University of New York. Sanduli then joined Emergent BioSolutions in 2020 as a Post-Bac Co-op in the Vaccines Business Unit, where they carried out groundbreaking research and worked alongside experienced scientists and program leads. In their role as a Project Coordinator in Late Stage Product Development, they played a key role in advancing the CHIK VLP Vaccine toward commercialization by managing program meetings, financial tracking, and stakeholder follow-up. Sanduli also provided Global Regulatory Lead support for the BLA working team. In 2023, they joined Bavarian Nordic as an Associate Project Manager, responsible for advancing the CHIKV VLP Vaccine toward commercialization, implementing strategies, achieving project milestones, and mitigating risks.

Sanduli Fernando completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Chemical Engineering from The City University of New York from 2016 to 2019. Before that, from 2015 to 2016, Sanduli attended Miami Dade College and obtained an Associate's degree in Chemical Engineering. Prior to pursuing higher education, Sanduli attended Sri Lankan School Muscat from 2001 to 2014, where they completed their Edexcel GCE A Levels in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Sanduli has obtained several certifications related to project management from Google. Sanduli completed courses such as Google Project Management, Agile Project Management, Project Execution: Running the Project, Project Planning: Putting it all together, Foundations of Project Management, and Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project, between 2021 and 2023.
