Torben Bregnhøj has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Torben is currently the Head of Global Rewards at Bavarian Nordic since July 2022. Before that, they worked at DFDS as the Head of Remuneration & Digitalisation from May 2021 to July 2022, and as the Head of Compensation & Benefits from April 2020 to May 2021. Torben also held the role of Workstream Lead at A.P. Moller - Maersk from August 2019 to March 2020, where they oversaw the implementation of a project focused on remuneration for international seafarers.
Prior to that, Torben served as the Head of Performance & Reward at Maersk Supply Service from March 2018 to July 2019. Torben also worked at Maersk oil as the Head of Compensation & Benefits in Denmark from August 2017 to March 2018. Before joining the Maersk companies, Torben worked as a Consultant at t.bregnhøj økonomistyring+c&b from January 2017 to August 2017.
Torben's earlier experience includes roles at Nykredit, where they worked as the Head of Compensation & Benefit from 2014 to 2016, and Head of Secretariat & Analysis (HR & FM) + Compensation & Benefit from 2012 to 2014. Torben also served as the Head of Planning and Secretariat in HR/FM from 2009 to 2012. Prior to Nykredit, Torben worked at Forstædernes Bank, where they held various positions including Head of Project Management from 2005 to 2009, Head of Finance and Communication and Internal Services from 2003 to 2005, CFO and Communication Manager from 2001 to 2003, and CFO from 1999 to 2001.
Torben's early career includes roles at Copenhagen Business School as a Teacher from 1998 to 1999, and at Danske Bank as a Specialist in the Planning Department from 1997 to 1999, and in Treasury from 1994 to 1997. With their extensive experience in compensation, benefits, performance management, and project management, Torben has developed a strong foundation in strategic HR and finance.
Torben Bregnhøj completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration (HA) from Copenhagen Business School between 1987 and 1990. Torben then pursued further education at the same institution and completed their Master of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration (cand. merc.) with a focus on Accounting, Finance, and Organization. For their master's thesis, they conducted research on financial management in Alm. Brand Bank.
