Kai Oputa

Kai Oputa is an experienced procurement professional currently serving as the Indirect Procurement Lead for Capital Equipment at Baxter International Inc. since October 2023. Previously, Oputa held the position of Director of Supplier Diversity & Procurement Solutions at Wesco from October 2015 to September 2023, focusing on development of strategic partnerships with diverse suppliers and analyzing diverse spend. Prior roles include Sr. Manager of Procurement at Kraft Foods Group, where responsibilities included managing over $1 billion in spend, and Manager of Indirect Procurement, along with positions at CBS Corporation as Manager of Strategic Sourcing and Ford Motor Company as Buyer. Oputa holds a BSE in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Business Administration from Wayne State University.
