Sofia R. Fernandez

Sofia R. Fernandez, MD, currently serves as the Senior Medical Director for Global Medical Affairs in Infusion Systems and Advanced Monitoring at Baxter International Inc., where responsibilities include developing and implementing the Worldwide Medical strategy and serving as a primary spokesperson for the company. Previously, Sofia held the position of Director of Medical and Clinical Affairs at Bayer, focusing on the Radiology portfolio, and contributed to various roles in global medical strategy at GSK, Flowonix Medical, and BD, where strategic initiatives and product development were emphasized. Early in the career, Sofia practiced medicine at Washington Family Medicine, PC, and other medical centers, where direct patient care and oversight of clinical operations were central to duties. Sofia holds an MD from St. George's University and a BA in chemistry from New York University.
