Vanessa Black

Vanessa Black has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Vanessa currently holds the position of Vice President, People at Bay FC since 2024. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of People at Polychain Capital from 2022 to 2023. From 2019 to 2022, Vanessa was the Head of People Programs & Engagement at Tanium, where they led strategic initiatives such as Social Impact, Employer Brand, Organizational Change Management, DEI, Sustainability, and Employee Engagement. Before their role at Tanium, they worked at Slalom Consulting from 2016 to 2019, where they led organizational transformation projects for various clients. Vanessa also had a significant tenure at IBM, where they held multiple positions including Global Manager, Learning & Development, Managing Consultant, Strategy & Analytics, and Senior Consultant, Strategy & Analytics. At IBM, they focused on talent development, change leadership, and employee engagement. Vanessa began their career at GMA Corp. as a Communications Manager, where they managed key relationships and supported diversification efforts.

Vanessa Black holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Additionally, they have completed the Change Management Certification Program at Prosci and the Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives course at Harvard University.
