Elizabeth McMasters, CSP, CIT has a long history of work experience. Elizabeth began their career in 2006 as an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator II at Florida Gulf Coast University. In this role, they performed laboratory, shop, and studio audits, conducted environmental site inspections, oversaw the Respiratory Protection Program, and participated in accident/injury investigations. Elizabeth then became an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, where they collected data, prepared and submitted the Tier II Report for FGCU, developed and implemented a university-wide chemical inventory system, managed biohazardous waste collection areas, and tested and developed more efficient ways to conduct inspections and produce reports. Elizabeth then became a Program Assistant, where they coordinated travel arrangements and performed payroll and budget functions. Finally, they became a Senior Secretary, where they verified students' enrollment and tracked department statistics. In 2022, Elizabeth began working as a Project Safety Professional at Bay West LLC.

Elizabeth McMasters, CSP, CIT holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Florida Gulf Coast University, obtained between 2000 and 2010. Elizabeth also holds several certifications, including Certified Instructional Trainer from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, obtained in August 2021; Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, obtained in June 2016; First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor from the American Red Cross, obtained in August 2015; Laser Safety Officer from the Laser Institute of America, obtained in August 2015; Biomedical and Social and Behavioral Research from the CITI Program, obtained in March 2022; Shipping and Transport of Regulated Biological Materials Certificate from the CITI Program, obtained in 2021; Biosafety Retraining Certificate from the CITI Program, obtained in March 2018; and Bloodborne Pathogens Certificate from the CITI Program, obtained in March 2018.
