André Cohnen

André Cohnen is the VP and Head of Genomic Medicine at Bayer Pharmaceuticals, a position held since 2022. Prior to this role, André was the Head of CRISPR and Genome Engineering at Bayer Pharmaceuticals from 2020 to 2022 and served as the Laboratory Head in Protein Engineering and Assays at Bayer HealthCare from 2015 to 2020. André completed postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford and the University of Heidelberg, and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Immunology from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, as well as a diploma in Biology from Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, where they graduated summa cum laude.
