Christopher Van Horn

Christopher Van Horn is an inclusive collaborator and scientist with extensive experience in agronomic systems, specializing in crop improvement, weed science, and disease management. Currently, they serve as a Senior Scientist in Cotton Insect Control at Bayer. Christopher has held various research positions, including as a Research Molecular Biologist at USDA-ARS, focusing on plant and bacterial genetics, and as a Research Plant Pathologist, analyzing rootstock genetics related to apple replant disease. They earned a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Colorado State University and a B.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology from Washington State University, demonstrating a strong academic foundation in their field. Passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists, Christopher integrates their knowledge and enthusiasm into collaborative research efforts.
