Sr. Platform Eng. Lead- Imaging And Sensing

Josh Pittman is an experienced professional in sensor technology and data management, currently serving as the Senior Platform Engineering Lead for Imaging and Sensing at Bayer Crop Science since June 2021. In this role, Josh leads a multidisciplinary team in pioneering innovation, establishing the largest network of international IoT sensing in the company's history, and launching advanced ground-based plant imagery and root zone data acquisition systems. Prior to Bayer, Josh held various positions including Uniformity Coordinator and Site Uniformity Engineer at Michelin, where technical quality management strategies were developed for uniformity excellence, and Senior Manager of Research Information Management and Data Quality at Indigo, focusing on high-throughput data acquisition. Earlier roles included Sensor Systems Manager at Noble Research Institute, where deployment of sensing systems was managed, and Data Coordinator at TGS. Josh holds a Ph.D. in Soil Science with a focus on sensor technology, a Master of Science in Environmental Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Soil Sciences, all from Oklahoma State University.
