Julius Hillenbrand

Julius Hillenbrand currently serves as Lab Head for Chemical Development at Bayer since March 2021. Prior experience includes a PhD student role at Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung from March 2017 to February 2021, where research focused on the development of a new generation of alkyne metathesis catalysts under the guidance of Prof. Alois Fürstner. Earlier, Julius contributed to research on C-H amination reactions as a master student with Prof. Tobias Ritter. An internship at BASF in polymer processing and engineering occurred in 2014, involving the synthesis and characterization of polymer dispersions. Julius holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from RWTH Aachen University, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and attended the University of California, Berkeley as a visiting student.
