Shawn Whitaker is the Lead Data Scientist at Bayer Crop Science, where they are currently focused on the development and support of decision support systems in the breeding pipeline. Prior to this role, Shawn worked as a Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist at Bayer from 2017 to 2020, and as a Data Engineer and Data Scientist at DuPont Pioneer in 2015. Shawn also served as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Iowa State University, where they managed various research projects and assisted with educational sessions for students. Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics, along with a PhD in Nuclear Physics, all from Iowa State University.
