Bayhealth
Prakash Aryal, PhD, DABR has extensive experience in the field of medical physics. Prakash currently serves as the Chief Medical Physicist at Bayhealth, a position they have held since June 2019. Prior to this, they also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) starting from July 2016.
Dr. Aryal's previous experience includes working at the University of Kentucky as the Director of Brachytherapy Physics and Clinical Medical Physicist from December 2000 to 2016. In this role, they were responsible for supervising all brachytherapy physics services and implementing HDR brachytherapy planning procedures. Prakash also provided safety training for staff members.
Before their time at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Aryal worked at Baystate Medical Center as a Clinical Medical Physicist from September 1999 to December 2000. In this role, they led the dosimetry section and supervised a team of dosimetrists. Prakash was also involved in calibration and quality assurance of radiation therapy machines.
Prakash Aryal, PhD, DABR has a PhD in Physics from the University of Kentucky. Prakash also holds a Master's degree in Medical Physics from the University of Toledo (previously medical college of Ohio). Prakash Aryal obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Health/Medical Physics from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Prakash is also certified by the American Board of Radiology. Prakash obtained this certification in June 2004.
