Bert O’malley

Chancellor at Baylor College of Medicine

Bert O'Malley is the current Chancellor at Baylor College of Medicine. Prior to their current position, they served as a medical research technician at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso for one year. Bert's central project focused on delineating the role of tumor-secreted exosomes in reprogramming stromal cells (endothelial cells, fibroblasts, etc.) of the surrounding microenvironment to foster metastatic progression. Additionally, they have served as a research and teaching assistant at El Paso Community College and as a science teacher at El Paso Independent School District.

Bert O'Malley received their PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine. Bert also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University.
