Victor Perez

Director, Software Engineering at Baylor Genetics

Victor Perez has a diverse work experience in software engineering. From 2006 to 2011, they worked as a Software Engineer II at InDyne Inc, NASA Johnson Space Center. In this role, they developed software solutions for the organization. From 2011 to 2018, they joined MEI Technologies, Inc. as a Software Engineer III. During their time there, they implemented various improvements, including introducing Webpack and Cake build for a more efficient front-end, creating RESTful Web API, and optimizing processes using ColdFusion, JavaScript, JQuery, and SQL Server. In 2017, Victor briefly worked as a self-employed Software Engineer before joining Baylor Genetics in 2018. At Baylor Genetics, they held multiple roles, including Senior Software Engineer, Principal Software Engineer, and Manager of Enterprise Solutions. In October 2021, they became the Associate Director of Data Intelligence, and then in April 2023, they transitioned into their current role as the Director of Software Engineering.

Victor Perez obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from McNeese State University from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they pursued Computer Science at Louisiana State University from 1997 to 1999, but did not complete a degree. In addition to their formal education, Victor Perez obtained the certification of Certified SAFe® 4 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc. in June 2018.
