Sophie von Gagern

Sophie von Gagern currently serves as Group Lead for Sustainability Strategy & Governance and Project Manager for Corporate Sustainability at BayWa AG since December 2020. Additionally, Sophie has been a Scholar at Peer School for Sustainable Development e.V. since December 2022. Prior experience includes holding the position of Director for "Business and Environment" and "Reporting" at the Deutsches Global Compact Netzwerk from March 2016 to July 2019, and various roles in private sector cooperation at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH from October 2013 to November 2020. Early career experience includes positions at oekom research AG, European Movement International, the German Red Cross, and Medihimal e.V. Sophie holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Science and Policy from Maastricht University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and completed non-degree studies at the University of Birmingham.
