Michael McFall

Michael McFall has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of data engineering and database management. Michael is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Bazaarvoice since March 2023. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Deep Labs, starting as the Head of Data Science & Engineering from November 2019 to January 2022, then as the VP Data Engineering from January 2022 to March 2023, and also as the Principal Data Engineer from August 2017 to March 2023. Before joining Deep Labs, Michael held the position of Principal Data Engineer at PwC from January 2016 to July 2017. Michael also worked as a Lead Data Engineer at Bitnet Technologies Ltd. from March 2014 to January 2016. Prior to that, they served as a Staff Database Engineer at Visa (CyberSource) from May 2011 to March 2014. Michael started their career at Citi, where they worked as a Senior Oracle DBA (AVP) from August 2007 to May 2011. Before Citi, they worked as a Systems Engineer/DBA at Northern Ireland Civil Service from December 2002 to August 2007. Michael began their professional journey as an IT Student Placement at Daewoo Electronics from July 2000 to August 2001, gaining experience in various technical areas such as Microsoft Windows Server/Desktop operating systems, programming languages like Visual Basic & Java, SQL Server databases, and web service management.

Michael McFall completed their BSc in Computer Science from Queen's University Belfast from 1998 to 2002. Later, from 2004 to 2006, they pursued an MSc in Informatics from Ulster University.
