Courtney Cook is a Course Instructor for the Genetic Counselling Seminar at The University of British Columbia since April 2021, while also serving as a Research Genetic Counsellor in the Elliott Lab. Research interests focus on the integration of genetic counsellors in novel practice areas and evaluating innovative service delivery models. Additionally, Courtney contributes as a Genetic Counsellor in the Hereditary Cancer Program at BC Cancer, providing genetic counselling and testing services, conducting patient advocacy, and educating patients on cancer risks and testing options. Clinical supervision of MSc Genetic Counselling students and co-coordination of education rounds are also parts of this role. Prior experience includes positions at LSI - UBC Life Sciences Institute and BC Children's Hospital Research Institute, where Courtney conducted significant research projects. Academic background includes a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and English Literature from The University of British Columbia.
