Sean Beatty

Sean Beatty, Ph.D., is a seasoned Project Manager and Bioinformatics Scientist currently working at BC Cancer since August 2019. Prior to this role, Sean founded Canine Health and served as a Scientific Consultant for multiple organizations including the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Academic experience encompasses a Graduate Teaching Assistant position at McGill University, where Sean contributed to virology and bioinformatics education, as well as a Research Assistant role at the University of the Fraser Valley focusing on DNA extractions and microbial identification. Sean holds a Ph.D. in Human Genetics with a specialization in Infectious Disease from McGill University, along with a Master’s degree in the same field and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Additionally, Sean completed a Project Management program at the UBC Sauder School of Business in 2022.
