Yixian Chen

Yixian (Crystal) Chen is a Research Methodologist at BC Cancer since September 2023, following a comprehensive academic and professional background in epidemiology and public health. Yixian served as a Scientific Writer and Communication Coordinator in the Cancer Prevention Lab of Dr. Rachel Murphy and the Cancer Epidemiology Lab of Dr. Martin Tammemägi from September 2017 to September 2023, where Yixian developed project plans, conducted literature reviews, and led a systematic review on diabetes medication and cancer risk. Additional experience includes roles as a Data Analysis Coordinator with the Parent Resource Centre, a Client Services Volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross, and various research and teaching positions at The University of British Columbia and Brock University. Yixian holds a Doctorate Degree in Epidemiology from The University of British Columbia and a Master of Science in Health Sciences from Brock University.
