Carolin Bender, MD, MBA

Carolin Bender, MD, MBA, has an extensive work experience in the medical field. Carolin currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at BC Platforms since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Boehringer Ingelheim, where they held the position of Head of Group TA Oncology & Pipeline from September 2020 to April 2023. At Roche, they held various medical leadership roles, including Medical Leader Benefit Assessment Oncology from November 2018 to September 2020, Medical Manager GI & Dermato-Oncology from July 2017 to October 2018, and Medical Manager Dermato-Oncology from June 2016 to June 2017. Before joining Roche, they worked at the Nationales Centrum für Tumorerkrankungen (NCT) Heidelberg / Universitäts-Hautklinik Heidelberg as a Resident / Scientist Physician from October 2014 to March 2016, and at Klinikum Kassel GmbH as a Resident Physician from November 2013 to September 2014. Carolin also gained research experience as a Research Study Assistant at the Clinical Research Center (CRC) der Hautklinik der Universitätsmedizin Mainz from September 2011 to February 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Werkstudent at Red Bull from June 2009 to February 2012, and as a Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft at the Anästhesiologische Klinik der Universitätsmedizin Mainz from February 2010 to April 2011.

Carolin Bender, MD, MBA has a comprehensive education history that includes both medical and business degrees. Carolin completed their Staatsexamen in Medizin at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz from 2007 to 2013. Later, in the same university, they pursued a Dissertation degree in Medizin from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, they enrolled at Goethe Business School - Goethe University Frankfurt, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Digital Transformation Management from 2019 to 2021.
