BC Public School Employers' Association

The British Columbia Public School Employers' Association (BCPSEA) is the employers' association for all 60 public school boards, including the Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CSF). BCPSEA supports public education through innovative human resource practices, partnerships, and services. Our mission is to develop and maintain human resource practices that maximize the benefit for students in our public education system through the effective use of resources and fair terms of employment. Specifically, we are responsible for: 1. Negotiating provincially with the British Columbia Teachers' Federation (the teachers' union) for a provincial teachers' collective agreement covering the 60 public school boards and their employees. 2. Providing research, assistance and coordination for the negotiation of support staff collective agreements. 3.Providing labour relations advice and services to school boards, including contract interpretation and grievance/arbitration case management. 4. Coordinating compensation for employees who are not subject to collective agreements. 5.Promoting effective and cooperative human resources practices in the public school system BCPSEA is also actively involved in the development of joint initiatives such as Make a Future - Careers in BC Education (www.makeafuture.ca) and the Employment Data and Analysis Systems.
