Alina McKay is a research manager at The University of British Columbia, focusing on housing-related research that supports academic and community-based initiatives across major Canadian cities. With extensive experience as a postdoctoral researcher, Alina examines the intersections of housing and wellbeing through experimental methods. Additional roles include research positions with the BC Society of Transition Houses, where Alina addresses barriers related to gender-based violence, and a history of graduate research assistance and teaching at UBC. Alina earned a PhD in Population & Public Health and an MA in Sociology from UBC, complemented by prior experience as a mental health worker in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
