Helia Jalili, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in research, entrepreneurship, and academia. Helia is currently serving as the Director of Research-Science and Technology at BCC Research. Previously, they have worked as a Judge for the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition and as a Catalyst at the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Helia has also served as an Alumni Global Ambassador at the University of Waterloo. Prior to these roles, Dr. Jalili worked as the President and Lead Scientist at Cavosh and as an R&D Manager and Senior R&D Engineer at H.C. Starck, where they led various projects in thin film lab, microscopy/failure analysis, and modeling. Helia has also worked as an Application Scientist at PANalytical, where they interacted with customers and developed advanced X-ray analysis techniques. Dr. Jalili started their career as a Staff Scientist at the Center for Materials Science and Engineering at MIT, where they conducted research on crystal structures and upgraded X-ray systems.
Helia Jalili, Ph.D. has attained a PhD in Physics from the University of Waterloo, where they achieved a GPA of 5.0/5.0. Helia then pursued a post-doctoral position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in Materials Science. In addition to their academic credentials, Helia has also obtained several certifications. Helia completed a course titled "Everything You Need to Know About Business from Start-up to IPO" offered by Prof. Chris Haroun on Udemy. Helia has also received certifications from the American Management Association in negotiation skills and from Dale Carnegie in presentation skills. Furthermore, they have completed a course on the "Nuts and Bolts of New Ventures" offered by MIT Sloan School of Management.
