Maica Mesidor, PhD student, MD, MSPH, IPC Specialist has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of public health and emergency response. Maica currently serves as an Emergency Response Specialist for the Latin America and Caribbean region at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Public Health Epidemiologist at BCFS Health & Human Services starting in August 2021.

In 2021, Maica Mesidor also worked at the State of Florida Department of Health as an OPS Epidemiologist/Biological Scientist IV from May to August. Before that, they held the position of a Consultant at OFATMA, a healthcare organization, from October 2017 to September 2020. During the same period, they also worked as an Infection Prevention and Control Consultant/MD at CLINI-ME Plus, affiliated with OFATMA/CONAM.

Their experience in Haiti includes serving as an Infection Preventionist Specialist/DOSS Departement/MD at Beudet Hospital from March 2016 to January 2018 and as an Infectious Disease Coordinator/MD at Beudet Hospital under the Health Decentralization Central Unit/MSPP from January 2015 to January 2017.

Following this, Maica pursued further specialization in the medical field by completing a degree in Medicina General Integral/Family Practice at Universidad de Oriente, Cuba from 2008 to 2010. This enhanced their knowledge and skills in providing comprehensive healthcare services.
