Blair Morrison

Blair Morrison has extensive work experience in the financial industry and regulatory compliance. Currently, Blair is the Chief Executive Officer at BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA), where they oversee the integrated regulation of credit unions, pension plans, insurance and trust companies, and mortgage brokers in British Columbia. They also hold positions as Superintendent of Financial Institutions, Superintendent of Pensions, Registrar of Mortgage Brokers, and CEO for the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation (CUDIC).

Prior to BCFSA, Blair worked at BMO Financial Group for several years. They served as the Chief Procurement Officer, leading a team responsible for supplier risk management, sourcing, and accounts payable. In addition, they held the role of Chief Compliance Officer, where they managed compliance programs, policies, and procedures globally. They also provided guidance on risk-related topics to executive management and boards of directors. Blair's earlier positions at BMO Financial Group included Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Affairs & Corporate Secretary.

Before joining BMO, Blair worked at TMX Group as a Director of Market Policy and Structure and as a Legal Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel. In these roles, they were accountable for regulatory strategy and corporate legal matters related to corporate commercial, information technology, securities, and regulatory matters.

Blair's career began at Nortel Networks, where they held various roles in securities law and corporate governance. They provided legal advice across multiple functions, such as Finance, Accounting, Mergers & Acquisitions, Investor Relations, Communications, Human Resources, and Tax.

Blair started their career as an Associate Lawyer in the Business/Securities Law Group at Torys LLP.
