Darryl West is an accomplished technology leader with over 35 years of experience in global financial services, having held executive roles at prestigious organizations including HSBC, Barclays, and JP Morgan Chase. Based in Hong Kong since April 2016, Darryl served as Group CIO at HSBC from 2015 to 2020, where they led a team of over 40,000 and transformed banking technology to enhance service quality and innovation. Educated at Deakin University in Australia, Darryl graduated first in their class with a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Fellow of Australia’s Institute of Chartered Accountants. Currently, Darryl holds advisory positions with several organizations, including Standard Bank and Boston Consulting Group.
