Valerie Thompson, CHPSE has a rich work experience spanning from 2003 to present. Valerie began their career in 2003 at Benefit Communication Insourcing, where they held the roles of Chief Innovation and Operations Officer and Technology Operations Officer. In 2009, they joined Grantham University as an Instructor of Art History. In 2010, they joined the Art Institute of Pittsburgh as an Instructor of Art History and Kaplan University as an Adjunct Faculty of Humanities. In 2011, they joined Wright Career Colleges as a Curriculum Developer. From 2012 to 2014, they held Adjunct Faculty roles at Henley-Putnam University, Park University, and Highland Community College, teaching Art Appreciation, Art History, and Art Appreciation & Humanities, respectively. In 2015, they joined Nevada State College as an Adjunct Faculty of Art Appreciation.

Valerie Thompson, CHPSE obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramic Sculpture from the University of Central Missouri between 2000 and 2002. Valerie then went on to get their Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Missouri-Kansas City between 2005 and 2008. In 2012, they earned a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Technology from Kaplan University. Finally, in 2013 and 2014, they obtained their Master of Science in Instructional Design from Kaplan University. In January 2018, they received their Certified HIPAA Security and Privacy Exper certification from HIPAA Training.
