Joost Houwen

Joost Houwen is a skilled professional with extensive experience in payment security, compliance, and IT security. Currently serving as the Manager of Payment Security and Compliance at BCLC since April 2021, Joost also owns OAR Consulting, which focuses on guiding clients through technology, risk, and compliance challenges. Previous roles include Western Canada Practice Leader for IT Security at Grant Thornton LLP, Senior Manager at Accenture, and IT Security Manager at BC Hydro. Joost began the professional journey as a Systems Manager at the University of British Columbia and has also worked as a consultant for a small ISP. Joost holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Victoria and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.
